The 2 Wheel Self Balancing Electric Scooter
Using the launch of the newest 2 wheel self balancing electric scooter, 2015 may be an exilerating year for gadget fans. Across the world, folks are taking to YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to write photos and videos of themselves zipping around on this 2 wheel contraption which basically seems like a board with a wheel on either side.
A mix of a skateboard along with a segway, this mini Segway (devoid of the handle) type thing is bolstering in popularity, fuelled in part with the amount of celebrities which have been seen using one. From Usher to Soulja Boy, Kendall Jenner to Jamie Foxx, all have tried their hand only at that nifty little gadget, and appear to have a lot of fun doing this.
Nicknamed the ‘swegway’ (due to it’s likeness towards the Segway, however a ‘cooler’ version) we are really not sure entirely where this type of self balancing scooter originated in or who invented the first. Most likely it originated in some factory in China. The very first glimpses we saw from it in the media were an item referred to as the IO Hawk, a scooter that sells for an astonishing $1800. This became back in January of 2015. Ever since then many cheaper versions of the same product attended out there along with the average price currently looks like it’s around $500.
How does it work? Basically you climb onto the 2 panels and shift your system weight slightly forward or slightly back plus it senses this bodyweight change and moves backwards or forwards. This may also turn right of left. This self balancing scooter is becoming so popular that it is being touted as the personal mobility device into the future. Who wishes to walk when you are able glide, right? Plus it’s a lot quicker than walking, travelling at speeds of 6mph to 10mph.
