The storyline of my mother and Whatsapp

It has been 5 years since Sami went along to France to carry out his studies in engineering. He’s courageous, ambitious, smart, and highly sensitive. Sami returns to Lebanon 3 times annually, in April, August, and December.

Nada, his mother, is 55 yrs . old and doesn’t work. When Sami announced to her that he would be going to Paris to examine, she was proud but in addition anxious. Scared and worried, she started sleeping less at night, contemplating how her son would survive life in France. In the cold to ladies to food, everything worried her.
Before Sami left, he showed his mother using Skype and promised to call occasionally to update her on his life, but he wasn’t sure this be enough.
Nada spent plenty of her days awaiting that Skype notification to see and talk to her son. Every time Sami returned home, he noticed that her face increasingly showed indications of anxiety, which worried him a whole lot. He became anxious but was believing that his diploma from France would provide him with a better life.
August 2017. Sami just landed in Lebanon and goes home to see his parents. He looks at
his mother’s face and sees different things: she is smiling and looks relaxed.
What is happening since 2012
Combined with the technological advancements, WhatsApp was brought to the entire world. It was revolutionary in several ways. Believe it or not, it changed Nada’s life. She is a simple learner and received a smartphone as a present from her son. Sami is now share many details of his life along with her. Instantaneously, through voice messages, she could hear his voice any time in the daytime. She can also video-call him even if he could be on the street, in the different country. Sami sometimes shares photos of his lunch, the weather, an article of clothing he desired to buy, and also pictures of his new girlfriend. Whenever she gets anxious, she sends Sami a message, and many of times, she receives an
instantaneous response.
Technology has been criticized a whole lot lately like a reason people are becoming distant, however in some cases, especially for people living abroad, it’s changed their lives.
