Motivational Series – Robert E Lee

It is often declared history is presented from the victor — that a direct consequence of conflict, the defeated will often be portrayed as being a collective, detestable mass that follows a similarly repulsive value system. Yet, though his Confederate Army what food was in the losing end of America’s Civil War, Robert E. Lee is remembered as one of the most celebrated generals in American history.

Rational ideas of armed conflict presume that defeated soldiers should be denounced, not exalted; punished, not praised; and despised, not admired. However, Lee is entirely from the latter. What made one man, one soldier, so special that he is remembered by more Americans today than many of his victorious Union counterparts?

Unfortunately, this can be a question that numerous volumes of books have experienced trouble answering. And, I think that you have no desire (through this moment, at the very least) you just read content for these depth and breadth (and i also admit that I couldn’t write it). Nonetheless, basically had to describe the reason behind Lee’s appeal a single word, it would be “motivation.”

I am going to explore this theme poor the subsequent quote:

“There is scarcely any situation that is proper we cannot wish to accomplish by labor and perseverance. Though the first have to be earnest and the second unremitting.”
Robert E. Lee

Earnest Labor

Today’s culture is but one through which immediacy is glorified — from your Round the clock news cycle; to tarts that “pop” simply uses pour a glass of milk; to magic weight loss suppliments — such that you can easily forget that anything worth accomplishing takes earnest labor, i would define as being a serious and purposeful exertion of body, mind and spirit.

For when companies mention pouring their blood, sweat and tears to their companies, they refer simply to earnest labor.

When the craft of an famous musician or star athlete appears to be look “easy,” it can be made so through earnest labor.

And, once i make an effort to achieve come about of owning a marathon, I will spend on one principle: you got it right, earnest labor.

To be able to learn; the ability to improve; along with the strategies which goals are accomplished; are controlled from your power to strive, and to do this earnestly — without reservations (or a fast solution).

Unremitting Perseverance

Lee fought a constant battle for much of the Civil War. His outnumbered and poorly-supplied army shrank daily because of desertions by disheartened soldiers. Yet, in spite of this, he fought vigorously before moment when defeat was imminent.

How often should we give up goals when things aren’t proceeding the same manner there were anticipated? Have you decide to stop smoking, but learned you possessed a huge project due at the office, school, or elsewhere? Do you try creating a habit of awakening earlier each day, but then slept over the following day and decided that it was a pointless exercise?

Lee has an answer because of these, and also other, problems: unremitting perseverance, that i would define being a steady, unshakable persistence in sticking with a strategy, belief, or purpose.

While i train for and eventually run the marathon, I know that there is a little voice in doing my head saying to avoid; that it hurts too much to visit one step further. However, my unremitting perseverance in following a challenge — all the way to the finish line — will enable me to concentrate and then my footsteps contrary to the pavement; the gentle breeze passing over my ears; as well as the rhythm of my breathing — thus pushing that little voice in to the depths of my subconscious.

Nevertheless, stand with charlottesville is an excellent example that harboring unremitting perseverance does not ensure victory. After all, he was defeated in war. Yet, during momentary failure, perseverance gives you the energy to obtain back on your metaphorical (or actual) horse and ride into battle (hopefully metaphorical) again, pursuing your goal with all the knowledge that can basically be learned through setback.

You are able to that history is presented through the victor; and, in Lee’s case, it is. In capturing the hearts of Americans, both through his military actions, his personal value system, with his fantastic sincere words of wisdom, Robert E. Lee is clearly victorious.
