Review of Islam
Islam is often a religion pointed in the 7th century in Saudi Arabia by it’s prophet, Mohammed. meaning of islam is among the three most popular Abrahimic religions, the opposite two being Judaism and Christianity. The saying Islam means “submission”, which refers to submitting oneself on the solitary God, Allah. Currently Islam could be the second largest religion on earth, and some estimate that we now have of a single.2 to 1.5 billion Muslims.
Islam’s holy book could be the Qur’an, or al-Quran. It turned out revealed by Allah to the prophet Mohammed over the angel Jibril or Gabriel. These revelations stumbled on Mohammed in a period of 22 years, from AD 610 approximately his death in AD 632. Muslims believe that Mohammed is Allah’s last prophet knowning that Islam is His last religion.
Islam is more when compared to a religion, because it covers areas of spirituality, politics, society, and law. As an example, you can find teachings concerning how to pray, how a individuals should behave, who can be considered a leader, and what sort of punishments needs to be given many different offenses. As a result Islam a means of life and governance, which can be distinctive from Judaism and Christianity.
The same as Christianity and Judaism, Islam teaches that there’s one omnipotent, omniscient God (Allah in Arabic), that Allah created everything, that Allah created Adam & Eve from whom humanity flourished about, that you’ve a Satan, that there is a day of judgment, etc. Islam believes that Jesus and Moses are prophets of Allah so when prophets, they are given their due respect. However, Muslims think that the Torah along with the New Testament were the words of Allah, but that the teachings have already been corrupted by humans.
Islam has 5 tenants, what are the Shahadah, the Salah, the Zakat, the Sawm, along with the Hajj. The Shahadah means the tenet of Islam, that is “ashadu al la ilaha illa lahu wa ashadu ana mohammdan rasulullah”, meaning “I testify that there’s no god, but Allah, and Mohammed is his prophet”. New Muslims MUST testify to this to be considered Muslims. The Salah may be the ritual prayer of Islam, and yes it has to be performed Half a dozen times a day. Zakat is the giving of alms. Sawm will be the fasting in the month of Ramadan. And Hajj could be the pilgrimage to the city of Mecca, which must be done once in a person’s lifetime.
Currently there are lots of denominations of Islam, but the hottest are Sunni, Shia, and the Suffis. The same as Christian denominations, the Islamic ones differ on few beliefs, however they all rely on the oneness of Allah, and prophet Mohammed’s prophecy, etc.
