In late August 2016 Mark started the studio recording process and used local session players to record the music over a six week period. The track consists of 8 separate tracks and all session musicians were from the Philippines, including the female lead vocalist ‘Micah Javier’.
Although I’m coming home for Christmas was studio recorded on Phuket island the mixing and mastering was made in the USA due to Mark wanted the most effective outcome and quality. The song ready to be listened to and downloaded by visiting the ‘Tsunami Day’ Website.
The key aim of recording I’m coming home for Xmas is to bring as many folks to the Tsunami Day web site as we can and then we hope in-turn they’ll be kind enough to help to 1 or all the Phuket charities, and to also buy the song.
Another primary goal is to be able enough downloads of the tune to help fund and create a Phuket live music club with open stage and studio / teaching room on Phuket, which will present free lessons and tuition to local underprivileged children from the neighborhood schools and children’s orphanages. To date ‘La QingTing’ is not open yet but the website is below. (QingTing means: Dragon Fly in Chinese if you’re wondering).
