Creative Thoughts for Water Garden Ponds
A better plan to adorn formal water ponds is a container of some type, either empty or planted up. This may be as easy as ordinary clay plant-pot, filled up with geraniums, or whatever you can discover or lug home from foreign parts. This last, obviously, would be useful, in a better sophisticated shape, through the formal pool.
The irregular shaped water pond is not the area for statues, except just possibly an exceptionally strong-shaped abstract, more boulder-like than spiky. A unique natural boulder or rock could look right, and so could a log or piece of driftwood. Anyone lucky enough to get locate a large fossil, just like an ammonite, could do it at the sea to determine if it looked happy, as the morbid might be satisfied with a cattle-skull among the Hostas.
Fountains don’t belong here and besides, the Waterlilies do not much look after moving water, although when the pool is large enough you may have water gurgling gently in the pool coming from a stream, natural or man-made, while planting waterlilies within a calm patch at the other side.
